Tope Akinsiku, fondly known as Topsy, co-pastor’s House of Praise Mississauga, Canada alongside her husband Wale Akinsiku. She is an author and the convernor of the Balance Living Women’s conference. A NOTE FROM TOPSY
As a new mom eighteen years ago, it was important to me to ensure my son learned about God, how to pray and the importance of prayer from a young age. My husband and I started a routine of encouraging our son to pray at bedtime and when he woke up in the morning. Being a toddler we noticed that his prayers centred around the same topic, such as prayers for his best friend and parents only. It was great that he wanted to pray for his parents and friends but we wanted to also encourage our son's dependency on God through prayer. Therefore, the quest started for how we could teach our son how to pray the scriptures, God’s promises in fun engaging ways, using words that he could understand.
Father I Pray was created to empower children to develop a habit of praying. It starts with the prayer of salvation which is the starting point to building a relationship with Christ.The pack of 31 unique prayer cards will also help parents teach their children how to pray the scriptures in fun, simplified and interactive ways.
The Father I Pray cards have two versions; one for our children in Kindergarten ages 3-6, and the other for our children in Elementary 7-12.
OUR MISSION
Father, I Pray prayer cards equips parents with engaging tools that empower their kids to build a prayer life and a personal relationship with God from a young age. Starting with the salvation prayer which is the foundation of building a relationship with God.
